i missed the point about missing the point...so what's my point?

I READ 2 WHOLE CHAPTERS OF A BOOK ALL BY MYSELF!

and yes i want a cookie.

so i started reading a book titled "Adventures in Missing the Point" by the antichrist Brian McLaren.

and this is a big deal because i am a terrible reader.

sad i know.

the first chapters have been really intriguing. hummm...who would have thought?

i read a whole page and a half aloud to allie...but i was a good christian a prefaced it with..."you know i am about to fill your head with heresy..."and she was totally cool with it.

so the point is this...when did we miss the whole point of salvation...thought on what are we being saved from...what are we being saved to...

it's interesting.

"you people are completely focused on political salvation of your people to the exclusion of everyone else"...Jesus' words to the Pharisees.

wow political salvation...isn't that so unnerving...but so realistic in today's "christain culture". these "pharisses" looked down on anyone who was "sinful"... adulterers and tax collectors...but isn't jesus for everyone? and aren't these the very people jesus choose to connect with?

it was stated in this book...Because jesus fellowshiped with these despised individuals... he was most likely viewed as a possible anti-messiah. now isn't it obvious to why they would want to kill him?

interesting...

convicting...yes.

And what does that mean for us? Is it those that are so severly persecuted by so called "church followers" that really have it right and understand it? And how was it that Jesus conversed with those sinners? I think that's where we really get off. I think that's definitely a place where I've missed it. I'm confused. And today's post proves it...read my blog...any insight?

Hey - in hopes of getting some more feedback (hint, hint) ;) and to make your life easier, I'll be posting all my xanga entries on Blogger as well. Talk to me, baby!
